⟡How to prep for your spray tan⟡
#1 - Stay hydrated!Hydrating from inside out is so important! If you aren’t hydrated, your skin suffers.
#2 - Take care of any/all beauty treatments before your tan!Getting a facial, waxed, or your nails done? These should all be done before your spray tan (preferably 24+ hours before) to make sure there’s no premature fading.
#3 - Exfoliate!Shave and exfoliate with an exfoliating glove the day before your tan. Avoid sugar scrubs, as the oils can interfere with your tan. Be sure to remove dead skin and any old tanner.
#4 - Arrive clean and bare!Rinse off all lotions, deodorant, makeup, and oils using water and a spray tan safe body wash. After showering, do not apply anything to your skin. Wear loose, dark clothing to your appointment.
#5 - At your appointment! After we talk about your tan goals, you can undress to your comfort level: a bathing suit, your birthday suit, or using the provided disposable underwear.
⟡How to care for your spray tan⟡
✦ For the 24 hours after your tan — no swimming, sweating, or tight clothing. Honey, trust us. ✦
#1 - First Rinse!Rinse time will vary for each person, so it’s important that you rinse at the specified time. Rinse with lukewarm water and your hands only, and then pat dry. You can apply a tan-safe lotion if you want.
#2 - Moisturize daily!Apply a spray tan safe moisturizer every day (and drink your water!) to keep your skin hydrated and extend your tan. Avoid products with actives, long hot baths, salt water, and chlorine as these will fade your color faster.
#3 - Showering!Use a spray tan safe body wash and shower in lukewarm water. Avoid shaving and scrubbing your skin during this time, as both will strip the tan unevenly.
#4 - Sun Protection!A spray tan or any other sunless tanning does not protect you from sun damage, you still must wear sunscreen and protect your skin!
#5 - What's next?Exfoliate with a mitt or tan remover scrub to remove the tan, and come back and see me!
